Peter Hoven
- What kind of music? Theatre
- Van der Hoven started his musical career when he formed an acoustic duo with Gerald Clark ( Delta Blue ) called Clark & Van der Hoven in January 2006. Werner Van der Hoven finished his school diploma in George at High School Outeniqua, after which he registered for B.Ing Chem. at Potchefstroom University for Higher Christian Education ( now known as Noordwes University ). By always having had a passionate love for music, this was inevitably what he was going to do for a living. His vocals capture the essence of melodic soulfulness with a rhythmic acoustic guitar following suit. He has shared stages with the likes of Arno Carstens, Albert Frost, Southern Gypsy Queen and Bok van Blerck to mention but a few. His music was used in an Afda final year film project, Parana, which was directed by Tonie van der Walt. Last year at Aardklop Van der Hoven was invited to perform with a renowned American blues/folk artist Brian Kramer. In April 2008 he produced and starred in the Eric Clapton “Slowhand” Tribute Show which was held at Steak & Ale Pub and Restaurant. The show was extremely well received and will be featuring in theatres around the country in the future. Van der Hoven is planning to release his solo album later this year and is certainly one to look out for!
