The Pretty Blue Guns started playing together when they entered a high school Battle Of The Bands competition. In the beginning it was just for kicks, but it was not long before people started to realize that the Guns had something worthy of attention.
Two years later, The Pretty Blue Guns are described as “gritty blues rock” and their influences range from early Robert Johnson era blues, to Tom Waits, to the more recent acts The Black Keys and Kings Of Leon, and everywhere in between.
They have played shows all over the Stellenbosch/Cape Town area, as well as taking the long road to Splashy Fen 2008, where they did their first show beyond the borders of the Western Cape.
The Guns regularly play in bars and theaters along with other great bands from the area, such as New Holland, New Loud Rockets, The Vontaines and This Quilt, among many others. If you would like to book The Guns for a gig then contact us.
