Acoustica
- What kind of music? Rock
- Acoustica was formed as a duo between Helene Henn and Graham Gillot.
Both artists have had many years of experience in the professional Music Industry and each has his and her own impressive portfolio.
Helene is known for her many hit songs on radio, while fronting the top SA band Black Diamond. She was later signed to BMG as a solo artist and recorded her own album “Dream of Love”.
Graham accomplished something of a study record by obtaining Grade 8 Classical Guitar with Merit in only 2 years of study through Trinity College London. He then went on to play for various bands including the SA bands Jesse Jordan Band and DNA Strings, as well as the internationally recognised Rodriquez.
“Acoustica” was the name given to the project, as it encompasses the various styles and vast diversity of the band members. By dictionary definition, the word “acoustic” means sound (and the properties and qualities in transmitting sound).
Both artists have different musical backgrounds and international experience. Their combined styles result in an extraordinary variety of music being made available including Classical, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Ballads, Cabaret, Spanish Flamenco, Indian, Irish and African Music.
Combine one of the most beautiful voices in the current SA music scene with one of the most diverse virtuoso guitarists and you have the formidable duo and band known as Acoustica.
