The appraisal and development of financial strategies for an industrial holding company

Abstract :

Gives a brief explanation of D&H as a company and its structure and corporate aims. Then the problem of performance evaluation is discussed with emphasis on the distinction between business success and management performance. Financial structure and gearing from the next part with specific recommendations on D&H’s debt financing. Dividend policy is discussed, the crucial issue being the pay-out ratio. Having reached the stage where expected profit levels are set, the financial structure is decided and dividend pay-out is settled, the most crucial of all financial matters has to be tackled: the allocation of financial resources. Inflation is also discussed. Concludes in a brief summary of the salient points relevant to D&H’s future financial strategy.
